DETOX DEPORTATION - Detox is a program for people with drug and/or alcohol dependence who are being deported to their home country. This allows them to take part in an intensive rehabilitation programme before deportation, giving them the best possible chance of success when they return home.

Deportation can be one of the most stressful and traumatic experiences that anyone could face, which in turn has significant psychological consequences on those affected by it; these include feelings of hopelessness and helplessness and even suicidal thoughts or behaviour, making returning to society extremely difficult and complex. The Detox Program aims to reduce these negative effects whilst preparing deportees for life after detention. It also aims to address any health issues prior to deportation so as to avoid complications once back home, thereby reducing costs to both the detainee’s own government and the Canadian Government at large. Detox is run jointly between Health Canada and Immigration Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC).

The Detox Program is open to all detainees with a current removal order; however, some detainees may not be eligible to participate depending upon their individual circumstances such as having less than two years left until expiry of their status or having criminal convictions related to their illegal activities while residing in Canada. There is no limit regarding nationality – the Detox Program accepts all nationalities regardless whether or not they have legal status within Canada itself! In fact since its inception last year over sixty nationals from twenty different countries around our great globe have taken advantage of this opportunity!

Detox takes place at Dorval Detention Centre where participants stay onsite during treatment. Treatment lasts approximately three weeks and consists primarily out of individual and group counselling sessions focused specifically among other things at dealing with depression、stress management techniques etcetera along side a daily holistic approach including physical exercise、yoga classes等等 various complementary therapies ranging anywhere from art therapy up through acupuncture till yoga meditation! All sessions are facilitated either directly by mental health professionals employed by Health Canad(
